HOW TO MEASURE YOUR WINDOW FOR CURTAINS
Measuring the window is the most important step before you purchase your fabric.
Use a metal tape - cloth tape are not accurate.
Take exact measurements.
On your notes clearly indicate which measurements is the width and which is the length.
Measure for all the curtains in the room to the same height from the floor, for a uniform look. Use the highest window in the room as the standard for measuring the other windows.
ROD PLACEMENT:
Measure the width of the window opening allow 4-6 inches on either side eg. 48+6+6= 60'' will be your rod width measurement record on note pad.
Apron length: place rods 6'' above and 5''below window opening
Floor length - place rods 6 inches above the window opening and down to the floor deducting 1/2'' for clearance
FOR PLEATED DRAPES:
Traverse Rod placement - window opening measurement multiply by 1.3 eg. 48x1.3=62.4 round off = 64 place 6'' above window opening.
Floor Length - take this measurement from the pole hook to 1/2'' of the floor
